When I graduated from college, I was hired by the mentoring organization where I had spent four years as a college volunteer. Five years later, I was offered the ceo position and took it. I met some of the most amazing people and learned about philanthropy, diverse work styles, life, poverty, balance, servant leadership, mentoring, business and nonprofits. After fourteen years with the organization, more than five years in the ceo role and four months after my second son was born, I resigned so that I could be home with my family. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.
